HI, i just wanted to tell you that the love and beauty in these dollys is enchanting!
i have been searching for a doll that reminded me of the dolls we got as a child. you see we always got the fanciest dolly for Christmas. Well, not long after New Years our dolly would vanish most time we blamed our brothers. one year we got homemade dollys we cried and cried no fancy clothes or pretty hair. they to disappeared so we got to crying even more then granny and her sister started to tell us how as kids they always wanted a doll any doll but with 7 kids and sharecroping they never got any so their older sister made them a doll like ours from rags.they then explained that they had made these dollys for us. well we also got a whipen for not liking our dolls and taking care of them. well we wanted our brothers to get a whipen too.but then my grand mom stepped in and said "no no no they do'nt have them" just keep looking for them. well we could tell by the three of them they knew something we did'nt.
so we looked we prayed we cried. no dollys just like every year! a few years later I went down home to granny and aunt Beaulah house for their Mothers service and there in the bedrooms where all our dollsand some. I just cried they bought the dolls for themselves and each other. i had learned inbetween time that these dolls cost 50 and 80 dollars and more in the 70s. i understood and it was unspoken. i love you so much! such a small luxury for 2 women who worked for 10 - 12yrs.old until their late 90's thats what you dollys remind me of. Thank You!
